VeO

Managing times of stress: cattle, poultry and swine.

WHAT IS “VeO”?

VeO is a neurosensory solution composed of a unique orange essential oil extract combined with other rigorously selected sensory actives. The properties of VeO help livestock cope with periods of stress.

VeO acts at the root of stress, directly in the brain, and is therefore the key to counteracting the harmful effects of stress. VeO improves animal well-being, thus allowing them to achieve their full potential.

Product claims are intended for export (outside the European Union).

VeO FOR POULTRY

WHAT PROMOTES STRESS?
  • Grouping
  • Handling, transport
  • Weaning
  • Hot weather
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF STRESS ?
  • A decrease in feed intake
  • A less homogenous pullet weight, and a delay in the start of laying
  • A decrease in consumption, egg laying rate and peak laying
  • A decrease in immunity
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF VeO ?
  • Continued consumption despite stress
  • More homogeneous pullets
  • A better start and improved laying peak
  • Less nervous behaviour
  • Better production
WHAT PROMOTES STRESS?
  • Handling
  • Density
  • Pick-up, transportation
  • Hot weather
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF STRESS ?
  • A decrease in feed intake and performance
  • An increase in nervous behaviour
  • An increase in mortality at end of batch
  • More scratching and slaughterhouse seizures
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF VeO ?
  • Less nervous broilers, easier to pick up
  • Better use of carcasses
  • Less mortality at end of batch
  • Better feed intake in hot weather
  • Better production

These same benefits are observed in typically nervous animals, for example breeders, ducks and turkeys.

VeO FOR RUMINANTS

Quels sont les évènements favorisant le stress ?
  • Le changement de groupe
  • Le vêlage
  • Les fortes chaleurs
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF STRESS?
  • Constant fighting accompanied by a decrease in consumption
  • Restless animals
  • Adjustment difficulties
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF VeO ?
  • More rest and rumination time = better production
  • Regular and more frequent feed intake
  • Animals adapt better to hot weather
  • Better production
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF VeO ?
  • Animals adapt more quickly to a new group or farm
  • Better consumption in the adaptation phase
  • Better meat quality
  • Animals adapt better to hot weather
  • Better production

VeO FOR SWINE

WHAT PROMOTES STRESS ?
  • Farrowing
  • Suckling and discomfort caused by stress
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF STRESS ?
  • Restless sows
  • A high stillbirth rate
  • A high suckling mortality rate
  • Poor feed intake
  • Poor litter growth
  • A significant deterioration in physical condition
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF VeO ?
  • Better feed intake during lactation
  • Better litter quality
  • A better performance in hot weather
  • A better body condition
  • Better production
WHAT PROMOTES STRESS ?
  • Handling, change of building and re-housing
  • Group density and size
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF STRESS ?
  • Constant fighting
  • Decrease in feed intake and performance
  • Agitated animals, nervous behaviour (tail-biting)
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF VeO?
  • Less agitated animals with a reduced risk of tail-biting
  • Animals adapt better to hot weather
  • Better carcass quality (pH)
  • Better production
WHAT PROMOTES STRESS
  • Group density and size
  • Mixing
  • Hot weather
  • Transport and handling
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF STRESS ?
  • Constant fighting and a decline in performance*
  • Agitated animals, nervous behaviour (tail-biting)*
  • An increase in mortality at end of batch
  • Poorer meat quality

*These same effects are observed in gilts.

QUELS SONT LES EFFETS DE VeO ?

HOW TO USE VeO ?

VeO exists in powder and liquid form. You will use it before and during the targeted stress period. Its unique formula and dosage make it simple to use for all species and at all stages of physiological development!

Some packaging formats may not be available in some geographic regions

POWDER 25kg bag
LIQUID 1L - 5L - 25L

EFFICACY OF VeO

VeO efficacy has been tested in multiple scientific trials and in field studies under various conditions, in different countries and to address different problems. VeO helps livestock adjust to their environment by improving each animal’s ability to adapt. This results in better behaviour and fewer negative effects of stress, such as reduced production when changing buildings or in case of heat stress, fighting during batching or overdensity, etc*. With VeO , animals are preserved and performance is enhanced.

USER STORY

“As soon as we began using the product, we noticed a significant decrease in the number of animals showing signs of nervousness. Sometimes, you don’t realize there’s an illness, and stress causes underlying symptoms to appear. Our animals are therefore much calmer and the mortality rate during transport has decreased.”
Dr. Marco Antonio Soto Flores

IS OXIDATIVE STRESS THE ONLY STRESS PRESENT IN ANIMAL PRODUCTION ?

Stress, oxidative stress, heat stress… the word “stress” is a catch-all and it is sometimes difficult to know what we really mean when we use it.

“Dès que nous avons commencé à utiliser le produit, le nombre d’animaux présentant des signes de nervosité a considérablement diminué. Dans certains cas, on ne se rend pas compte qu’il y a une maladie, et le stress fait apparaître les symptômes sous-jacents. Cela nous permet d’avoir des animaux beaucoup plus calmes et de diminuer le taux de mortalité pendant le transport.”
Dr. Marco Antonio Soto Flores

Le Stress oxydatif n’est pas l’unique stress présent en élevage.

Stress, oxidative stress, heat stress… the word “stress” is a catch-all and it is sometimes difficult to know what we really mean when we use it.
