Proteins: which impact on environment?

The proteins used in ruminant feed represent two issues:

Soil and water pollution: excess protein in rations in relation to requirements leads to more nitrogen discharge, particularly in urine, which ends up polluting the soil and water

Deforestation and sea freight: the main source of protein used is soybean meal, the production and import of which involves deforestation and sea freight

Reformulating feeds with Oleobiotec to reduce the proportion of protein

Reformulating feeds allows for a reduction in the proportion of protein and thus a reduction of nitrogen discharge .

But this is not the only advantage!

This strategy also reduces the cost of the feed because protein sources are expensive!

This requires maintaining a good efficiency of protein use by the animal to preserve the productivity of the cows and maintain the profitability of the farm.
