WHY USE OLPHEEL ZEN ?
As aquaculture keeps growing and evolving, most fish production systems involve essential management practices such as transfer, transport, vaccination, sampling, treatments, which generate acute stresses on the animals. These handling stresses have negative consequences on animal behaviour, growth, performance and survival. Besides productivity, theses stresses have a strong negative impact on fish welfare and cannot fit the need of sustainable farming models.
Currently, to compensate this stress, fish are often given sedatives or anesthetics. Those products, mostly synthetic chemicals, require time to take effect, or on the opposite, they act for too long. This can instead generate significant stress, altered behaviors, and sometimes mortality. It is therefore essential to seek solutions that do not require the use of a product with drug status and are also formulated with substances of natural origin to replace these chemical treatments.
